OPEN OR CLOSED // WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Open terrariums do not have a lid and will need watering approximately once a week, depending on the environment where it is kept. Plants in these will grow larger, taller and wider than those planted in a closed terrarium. 
 
Closed terrariums have a lid and only need watering approximately once or twice a year after the initial watering. In some cases, these terrariums can be kept closed for years without having to provide any water at all. If desired, the plants inside closed terrariums can be trimmed and the sides of the jar can be wiped of collected debris. 
 
No matter what type of vessel, your plants will be happy in these terrariums for years without needing much care or re-potting. 
 
WHAT ARE UPGRADES?
Our Complete DIY Terrarium Kits are shipped with three of our most popular varieties or plants. You also have the option to upgrade these plants to a more rare or unusual variety. If you choose to upgrade, this will replace a standard plant normally sent with our kits. You can upgrade up to three plants if desired.
