OPEN OR CLOSED // WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
We carry two types of glass terrariums - open and closed. Our open terrariums are shaped as a globe and our closed terrariums are shaped as a jar. No matter what type of terrarium, your plants will be happy in these terrariums for years without needing to be repotted. Please note that our small sized terrariums only come in an open, globe style vessel.
Open terrariums do not have a lid and will need watering approximately once a week, depending on the environment where it is kept. Plants in these will grow larger, taller and wider than those planted in a closed terrarium.
Closed terrariums have a lid and only need watering approximately once or twice a year after the initial watering. In some cases, these jars can be kept closed for years without having to provide any water. If desired, the plants inside closed terrariums can be trimmed and the sides of the jar can be wiped of collected debris.
WHAT ARE UPGRADES?
Our Complete Terrarium Kits are shipped with three or four of our most popular varieties of plants. You also have the option to upgrade these plants to a more rare or unusual variety. If you choose to upgrade, this will replace a standard plant normally sent with our kits. You can upgrade up to three plants if desired.
