    Plant Information

Peperomia Polybotrya, commonly known as Raindrop Peperomia, is a unique and charming species of Peperomia known for its distinctive leaf shape and beautiful foliage.  It's a popular choice among indoor plant enthusiasts due to its compact size, easy care requirements, and interesting appearance.  Raindrop Peperomia is one of the larger varietals of peperomia, and can reach 12"-18" tall.  This peperomia comes in a medium-sized open top terrarium.

Raindrop Peperomia gets its common name from the shape of its leaves, which resemble raindrops. The leaves are thick and fleshy, with a round and slightly flattened shape that tapers to a point at the tip.  The upper surface of the leaves is glossy and often a deep green color, while the undersides can vary from light green to reddish.

Raindrop Peperomia is a delightful addition to any indoor plant collection.  Its unique foliage and easy care requirements make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts.  With the right care and attention to its needs, it can thrive and bring its distinctive charm to your home or office.

    Care and Maintenance

Remember that each plant is unique, so closely monitor your plant and adjust its care based on its response. By providing the right conditions, you'll be rewarded with a stunning and healthy plant that adds a touch of tropical elegance to your indoor space.

    Open top terrariums

The glass terrarium and plant are shipped exactly as pictured (no assembly or planting required). These terrariums have all the proper substrate layers needed for optimal growth.

On average, your terrarium will need watering once or twice a week during spring and summer and once every week or less during the winter months. This is not a steadfast rule. A great way to tell when your terrarium will need watering is when the soil and moss layers (the top two layers) are dry. You can also take a mental note of how heavy the terrarium feels when it is dry as compared to when wet.

Be sure to water slowly and evenly. Once you see water pooling in the bottom layer of your terrarium it is time to stop watering. This bottom layer provides a reservoir for excess water and helps to avoid overwatering. It is best to err on the side of underwatering than overwatering.

Your terrarium will need a balanced liquid fertilizer that is diluted. This should be provided approximately once every other watering. With a few simple care requirements, this tropical plant can be kept in its glass terrarium for years to come.

    Light

Provide bright, indirect light for your peperomia.  It can tolerate lower light conditions, but its coloration will be most pronounced and attractive in moderate to bright indirect light.  Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves.

    Temperature

Maintain a comfortable room temperature between 65-80°F (18-27°C).  Keep it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

    Fertilization

Feed your peperomia with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).  Reduce or eliminate fertilization during the fall and winter when growth slows down.

    Humidity

Peperomia can tolerate average indoor humidity levels.  However, it may benefit from increased humidity.  Misting the plant or using a humidity tray can help.

    Pruning

Trim any yellowing or dead leaves to maintain the plant's appearance and encourage new growth.

    Dusting

Dust can accumulate on the leaves, hindering their ability to absorb light.  Wipe the leaves gently with a damp cloth or give the plant a shower occasionally to keep it clean.

    Pests and Diseases

Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, thrips, aphids, and mealybugs.  If you spot any pests, take action promptly with appropriate treatments.

    Rotation

To ensure even growth and avoid the plant leaning towards the light source, rotate it every couple of weeks.
