Plant Information

Monstera Thai Constellation is a rare and highly sought-after plant known for its striking variegated foliage. The leaves are a dark green color with large, irregularly shaped light green, white or cream-colored patches that vary in size and shape from leaf to leaf. The variegation is caused by a genetic mutation, making it a unique and valuable addition to any plant collection. Thai Constellation is a relatively slow-growing plant.

Like other Monstera species, Thai Constellation is a climbing plant that can grow to be quite large if given the right conditions. It is native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. It is important to give it plenty of space to climb, as well as a sturdy support structure like a moss pole or trellis. Regular pruning can also help to keep the plant looking neat and tidy.

Care and Maintenance

Remember that each plant is unique, so closely monitor your plant and adjust its care based on its response. By providing the right conditions, you'll be rewarded with a stunning and healthy plant that adds a touch of tropical elegance to your indoor space.

Light
Provide bright, indirect light for your monstera. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but its coloration will be most pronounced and attractive in moderate to bright indirect light. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves.

Temperature
Maintain a comfortable room temperature between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Keep it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.  To encourage more rapid growth in your monstera, keep the monstera at the upper end of the recommended range, or even slightly higher.

Watering
Water the plant when the top inch or so of the soil feels dry, and be cautious not to overwater, as monstera are sensitive to soggy soil. Water thoroughly when needed, but ensure that the pot has proper drainage to prevent waterlogged roots.

Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix to prevent overwatering. A mix of regular potting soil, leca, bark, perlite, and peat moss or coconut coir works well.

Fertilization
Feed your monstera with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). During growing season, some monstera varietals require heavier feedings or more frequent fertilization. Reduce or eliminate fertilization during the fall and winter when growth slows down.

Humidity
Monstera can tolerate average indoor humidity levels. However, they usually benefit from increased humidity. Misting the plant, running a humidifier or using a humidity tray can help.  Pair increased humidity with increased temperature to encourage growth.

Pruning
Trim any yellowing or dead leaves to maintain the plant's appearance and encourage new growth.

Potting
Repot your monstera when it becomes root-bound or outgrows its current container. Repotting is best done in the spring.

Dusting
Dust can accumulate on the leaves, hindering their ability to absorb light. Wipe the leaves gently with a damp cloth or give the plant a shower occasionally to keep it clean.

Pests and Diseases
Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, thrips, aphids, and mealybugs. If you spot any pests, take action promptly with appropriate treatments.

Rotation
To ensure even growth and avoid the plant leaning towards the light source, rotate it every couple of weeks.
